MEET MAX
Hi, my name is Maxwell Burgess, and I am a songwriter, guitarist, and producer. When I was around 8, my neighborhood friends were fans of Naruto. We would go online and look for Naruto episodes; one day, we came across a YouTube music video of Naruto set to Linkin Park's "In The End." We really liked the song and then discovered LP's catalog. Naturally, we decided to form our own band so that we could meet Linkin Park; for some reason, our songs about 8-year-old angst never made it out of the neighborhood...The band didn't last, but I kept playing guitar and writing songs and began "producing" my songs with a cheap loop pedal. I played music in the church growing up and throughout college. After college, I became a worship leader and started playing open mics around Houston. I met some incredibly talented musicians, and we formed a band called The Working Hours. I met other excellent musicians through gigs, touring, and collaborating. Eventually, I wanted to produce more full-time, and I started taking classes on mixing and mastering. The local band Astralace agreed to record their song "Settlin" with me. After the release of that song, I began to record other local artists such as Sorry, Sarah, and Whitney Ward. I still continue to play gigs around Houston and work on my own material. As a producer, I enjoy working with seasoned professionals as well as songwriters that don't play instruments. I offer artists production, mixing, and mastering services. When I'm not working on music, you can find me spending time with friends and family, going to the movies, and supporting other local artist's gigs in Houston.
